Side note: I have a secret want for that Caliber SRT-4... * hides in a corner *

In Texas, if it's not a dually crew cab 4x4 it's considered compact.

The SRT-4 is a great car, it's just horribly ugly.

That's the problem, I like fugly cars.

You should find a Magnum SRT-8 then!
Actually this looks pretty cool.

Awwww, the Quarry Market, memories :]

if it fits...

I love the SRT8 Magnums, but holy hell their value is so overrated.
18k for an 8 year old wagon? I love wagons, but I don't have the money for it, and even if I did, it would be hard to justify. I've seen plenty of R/Ts for under 7k.

More importantly, that GMC Envoy...

What?!! Why so much? I'd though they dip below 10 at some point.

Last I searched for any, the majority started between 15-18k. I could have an R/T and a crate 426 short block for that price.

That would be one badass wagon.

I'm saving up so I can hopefully make that happen.
I've been told by a number of chrysler mechanics that the short block should fit, the long block would require modding.

They're kinda heavy and have a high center of gravity. Also whoever thought a high powered fwd car is ok with with an open diff is an idiot.
Take my less ugly Cobalt over it everyday of the week or even an HHR SS. Cobalt is even quicker than the SRT even though being down on power.
![]() 02/15/2014 at 19:26 |

That would be FUCKING BADASS. Do it.
![]() 02/15/2014 at 19:27 |

Yeah I'd assume the high center of gravity would compromise the performance, and there's only so much power you can put in a FWD car before it becomes undriveable.

I'm looking to start with an R/T, so I can rebuild the 5.7 and sell it later (worth more than the V6). Then I'm looking to drop a T56 or T6060 in place of the NAG1 (also something I can sell for profit later). The complicated part is gutting the wiring of the car, and re-doing all of it, because I'm not going to go the route of having the CAN-BUS, ECU and a third computer to communicate between the two. Too complicated. I need to get the car, make sure it's in good enough shape for it, and as long as it is, I'll be using oppo as my build log. I'm still a few months away from the R/T, so stay tuned.

Sounds like you have it all planned out! Label me excited!

...it sits.

It's a great engine. I wouldn't say it's a great car .
![]() 02/15/2014 at 21:56 |

The engine is pretty much the only good thing about it you're right. Maybe it's.....I don't know....practical?.....no...that's not right....yeah, I guess just the engine.

I got to drive a SRT4 Caliber and you know what. I loved it. I haven't driven many fast cars in my life but that thing was fun, and I think it looks kinda awesome, plus it's a hatch back with lots of rear space and rear leg room for a small car. But like the Neon I would never consider driving one w/o the SRT badge.

I hope they come out soon with this:
